Modular wastewater treatment

Every client and every enquiry is important to us and we try to respond within 24 hours. Any project begins with a thorough procedure of data collection and analysis after which our engineers begin to select equipment based on the received results. If required, we also offer a complete pack of project documentation, developed by our planning department. The next stage is to fabricate the wastewater treatment plant in-house. Prior to dispatch of any parts to the client, all equipment is rigorously tested to meet the highest industry standards.

1. The purpose of modular wastewater treatment plants

LOSBEL offers its customers modular local treatment facilities.

Modular treatment plants are full-cycle biological treatment plants, where all wastewater treatment processes take place in a single tank. All zones of the bioreactor are purposefully divided into compartments. The wastewater treatment process fully recreates a biological treatment plant with a concrete tank. There is an anaerobic and anoxic zone, an aeration chamber as well as a secondary sedimentation tank.

Where are LOSBEL modular wastewater treatment plants used?

  1. Manufacturing enterprises.
  2. Logistics centers, storage units, warehouses.
  3. Recreation centers, children's camps, tourist centers.
  4. Construction sites.
  5. Petrol stations.
  6. Residential developments.

Advantages of the LOSBEL modular wastewater treatment plants

For the most effective wastewater treatment, our specialists will calculate the installation capacity specifically to suit your needs. The constructor principle allows us to precisely identify and increase power. The exact calculation of power is carried out by LOSBEL engineers.

The characteristics of modular sewage treatment plants include:

  • Factory readiness of modules.

  • The capacity of the treatment plant is increased by module. One module is capable of treating from 0.6 to 40 m3 of wastewater per day.

  • The maximum number of modules is 6 units.

  • Low energy consumption for wastewater treatment - up to 0.2 kW * h / 1m3.

  • High percentage of successful sewage treatment - up to 99.5%.

  • The possibility of additional treatment of discharged effluent, if necessary.

  • Fast installation of cleaning equipment.

  • The sewage treatment plants can function in extreme climatic conditions (up to -40 Degrees Celsius).

The design department of the company will draw up a project of sewage treatment plants in accordance with the customer's specifications in order to pass all the necessary technical surveys and reviews.

Our design department has developed a number of standard designs and solutions. This allows for a faster design process and decreases design costs. Here you can find more information about designing with LOSBEL.

2) The advantages of LOSBEL modular equipment

  • The operation of a local sewage treatment plant does not require the constant presence of trained staff.

  • Modular sewage treatment plants operate on a half day basis. In total, it is active for 12 hours out of 24 per day. Which means that there is a 50% saving on electricity consumption.

  • Equipment is programmed to function automatically.

  • The sewage treatment plant can function normally both during high and low temperatures, as well as during periods of extremely cold temperature (up to -40 Degrees Celsius).

It is most convenient to use modular sewage treatment plants in remote areas or where there is a lack of urban sewage infrastructure. Therefore, the use of modular treatment facilities is justified in rural schools, small settlements, hospitals, manufacturing and storage areas, construction sites, construction worker camps, etc.

4) The treatment methods for domestic wastewater, surface water (rain, snow) and industrial wastewater in modular structures

  • We use the principle of biological treatment including stages of nitrification and denitrification in our modular treatment plants;

  • We use extruded polypropylene for the main structure (the body). This high-strength material allows us to install an autonomous sewage system in any soil without restrictions and without using a concrete frame. The service life of a biological treatment plant body is more than 50 years.

  • For the aeration system LOSBEL uses a membrane aerator that can operate continuously for more than 10 years.

  • For the air input system, LOSBEL installs compressors from well-known world manufacturers with extremely low noise levels, increased wear and tear resistance, high reliability and durability.

  • For the wastewater pumping system, LOSBEL uses airlifts for better wastewater treatment. These airlifts don't allow the activated sludge flakes to be destroyed while pumping and transferring the wastewater.

Technical characteristics of additional equipment and blowers can be provided upon the request.

 5) The composition of the modular WWT

Cleaning facilities include (using 120 m3 / day as an example):

  1. A pavilion for technological equipment (inside there is a blower and control cabinets);

  2. Feeding SPS;

  3. Distribution chamber;

  4. WW Treatment plant for 40m3 / day (3 units);

  5. A sludge basin

  6. A post-treatment filter;

  7. A UV disinfection unit.

The complete equipment delivery set is determined based on the customer requirements and the required wastewater treatment parameters.

6) The cleaning efficiency in modular sewage treatment plants

LOSBEL equipment is certified and is actively used both on the territory of the Russian Federation and the CIS region, and on the territory of the EU countries.

In 2020, LOSBEL also successfully passed and received European certification.

Certificate of successful testing at Prüf- und Entwicklungsinstitut für Abwassertechnik an der RWTH Aachen (PIA) - Institute for Testing and Development of Wastewater Treatment Technologies at the University of RWTH Aachen (PIA)

7) The particulars of installing modular WWT

  • Installation and launching of treatment facilities is designed to be as convenient as possible for the consumer - the LOSBEL biological treatment station is 100% factory ready. This means that only ready-made fully assembled modules arrive at the installation site which allows to shorten the launch time.

  • Autonomous sewerage system is compact and does not occupy a large area.

  • The sanitary zone is significantly reduced.

  • Immediately after installation and start-up, the biological treatment plant is completely ready for use. However, at the request of the customer, the launch can be carried out at a later date. For example, during the construction of residential developments, it is advisable to launch the station immediately before moving in, as the activated sludge needs waste effluents to feed off of. When there is a shortage of effluents, bacteria begin to "starve".

Specifications

Within the treatment plant, wastewater is treated via preliminary and biological purification. The construction of the biological treatment consists of one container with separate wastewater treatment lines, with anaerobic and aeration chambers well as secondary sedimentation tanks installed inside. In each section specific conditions are met ensuring the process of nitrification and denitrification . Activated sludge from the treated effluent is separated in settling tanks which are installed next to the aeration chamber. A well-known technique is offered for the removal of nitrogen and phosphorus, which involves nitrification and denitrification as well biological phosphorus removal.
